Chesham in the Community
Chesham United Ladies & Girls have linked up with the FA’s Three Lions initiative to provide football coaching in primary schools specifically for girls.
The ladies are keen to promote the club within local primary schools and are currently running lunchtime clubs in Chartridge, Hawridge & Cholesbury, Little Spring, and Brushwood.
The ladies & girls sections are keen to recruit primary school girls into their teams, as well as promoting the club throughout the community.
Newtown, Ley Hill, Waterside & Little Kingshill are all keen to have some girls football in the New year so hopefully word will spread that Chesham United are a football club at the heart of the community.
Chesham’s Mel Bryan & Lisa Welling are delivering the sessions and are keen to encourage the girls down to Wednesday night club sessions.

Mel now 19 and a level 2 coach says ‘I have been at Chesham since I was 10, Lisa & Sian probably started the girls section because me and my sisters wanted to play, now I’m back trying to get other girls interested in playing. Its not just the participating that’s important it’s the focus, social aspect and the healthier lifestyle that you undertake when you want to be part of a quality team that really helps you through your teenage years!’

All girls are welcome on Wednesday nights 5.30 – 6.30 at Chesham FC 6 -12 years of age.

Chesham’s Girls teams all have qualified female coaches.
Currently the senior ladies sides possess 4 female B Licence coaches - that’s not bad seeings there’s only 75 in the country!! On top of that Chesham Ladies have another 6 level 2 coaches, numerous level one coaches and a number of U16’s keen to gain their 1st step on the coaching ladder!
The teams are all still keen to recruit players especially at U10 & U16 age groups. The Ladies are also keen to know of any volunteers who may wish to help them gain more promotion or sponsorship.
