Chesham MLD Girls team have been training with 1st team Goalkeeper Michelle Elrick and Sharon Rogers for the past 9 months, training regularly on Wedneday evenings at Chesham Park school.   Their 1st match was against an Oxford select team and the Chesham girls mainly from Alfriston school were also representing the county.   Chesham started brigthly and were soon forcing Oxford back into their own half, some good play from Abby Grainger put through striker Lizzie Warner whose shot was saved.   The home side were shell shocked as Chesham domniated.  Grace Maddison had lots of room out wide but Chesham couldnt get the ball to her.  Zoe Jones, Lizzie Hounslow & Holly Arrowsmiths defended well preventing any chances on goal. Up the other end Zhane Sandy and  Anna Tencor were brought into the action and when Vicky Mundays shot was handled she stepped up to take the resulting penalty, she drove it hard and low but it rebounded off the post and Oxford cleared.

Half time came and Chesham tired, quickly Oxford saw the opportunity to break and score.   Chesham looked a bit shell shocked and found themselves two goals down.   Strenghtening the defence helped and Anna Tencor did everything she could to stop the rot, as the girls tired they conceded a third but thoroughly enjoyed their trip accross the border and their 1st match.
