Match Report

12/11/2017 Chesham 1 New London 2.

Chesham ladies found themselves dumped out of the FA cup by New London lionesses, what had started as a great day with girls from Chesham and Ruislip Rangers being Mascots (pictured), ended in frustration. The home side started with good momentum and deservedly went ahead when Nat Adams tucked away the first on the half hour.

Chesham looked comfortable and Lionesses’s striker was well dealt with by Chesham’s defence.

Niamh Euman replaced Sarah Hazel and kept up decent energy levels. The visitors were physical Smith struggling with a knock was replaced by  Kat Bowers,  but a lapse in concentration at the back gave Lionesses a free kick which Lucia Masella couldn't keep hold of it and the visitors were level.

Chesham couldn’t quite get into the swing of things, niggly tackles stifled their progress and when striker Gemma Fraser was tackled from behind,  she couldn't continue and Harrison replaced her. Both teams had opportunities and both cleared off their lines. All square at 90 minutes the game levelled out and was end to end City took the lead with a good finish. A good crowd enjoyed the end to end action, Euman blazed over, City had chances, captain Dawne Campbell went up front and in the dying seconds her flick put Chesham’s best player on the day Nat Adams who saw her finish crash off the bar, a frustrated home side again crash out in the 1st round.  This week the ladies have got to bounce back to try and retain their County cup away at Barton.

Masella, Campbell, Delves, Darvill, Harris, Fraser (Harrison) Lambert, Hazel (Euman) Horwood, Adams, Smith (Bowers)
