Match Report

Chesham United Ladies took a step towards retaining the senior county cup with great 5-0 win against a Barton team that are yet to be beaten in their league.

Chesham have some injury issues Kirsty Gladwin is out with a knee injury, as is striker Gemma Fraser and last weeks scorer Nat Adams was unavailable so some u18s were asked to step up.  Chesham started well and created lots of chances but the deadlock was broken on 25 minutes when Player of the match Emma Delves (pictured) raced on to Gemma Darvill's through ball and finished well.

Chesham continued to press and when the ball found Kat Bowers on the edge of the area she hit a great strike from 20 yards. With minutes remaining Lucia Masella was clattered and captain Dawne Campbell picked up the gloves.

Sarah Harrison stepped into midfield and Chesham continued to press up the slope, a great cross by Niamh Euman was turned in by Barton defender to make it 3.  Emily Osgerby replaced Sarah Hazell to help tighten up the midfield.   Euman had an excellent game, the young midfielder who led the line really well rounded the keeper and slotted home the 4th   before being replaced by her U18 team mate Lidia Nied. Barton nearly grabbed a consolation, a loose pass at the back let Barton in and Campbell was at full stretch to turn it round the post for a rare home corner. 15 minutes remaining and Bowers struck a first time effort from outside the box to wrap up the scoring!

Squad: Masella (Harrison) Darvill, Campbell, Harris, Delves, Lambert, Smith, Euman (Lidia Niedertubbesing-Lopez) Bowers, Hazell (Osgerby)
